How the National Taxi Financial Services Association collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act.
Last updated: 26 June 2026
The National Taxi Financial Services Association ("NTFSA", "we", "us", "our") — a subsidiary of MultiDo — respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and safeguard personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").
By using this website, submitting a membership or contact form, or otherwise engaging with NTFSA, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
1.Who is responsible for your information
For the purposes of POPIA, NTFSA is the Responsible Party. Our Information Officer oversees compliance with this Policy and with POPIA.
2.The information we collect
We collect only the personal information we need to provide our services and to facilitate access to financial products. Depending on how you engage with us, this may include:
- Identity & contact details — name, ID or passport number, phone, WhatsApp number, email and physical address.
- Membership & industry details — your role (operator, owner, driver, association or stakeholder), association membership, number of vehicles, routes and registration details.
- Financial information — where required to facilitate insurance, funding, investment or related products through our partners.
- Enquiry content — information you provide in contact, membership or partner forms.
- Technical information — limited website and device information (see the Cookies section).
3.How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you (through our website forms, telephone, WhatsApp, email or in person at the rank), from taxi associations you belong to where you have authorised this, and from our service providers and partners in the course of facilitating a product or service you have requested.
4.Why we process your information
We process personal information for the following purposes:
- To respond to enquiries and process membership and partnership applications.
- To facilitate access to insurance, funding, investment, education and related solutions through licensed third-party providers.
- To provide financial education, updates and member communications.
- To administer our relationship with you and improve our services.
- To comply with legal, regulatory and reporting obligations.
We rely on one or more lawful bases under POPIA: your consent, the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request, compliance with a legal obligation, the protection of a legitimate interest, or where processing is necessary to pursue our or a third party's legitimate interests in a balanced way.
5.Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it, only as far as necessary, with:
- Financial partners — insurers, funders, investment providers and other licensed institutions, so they can assess and provide the products you ask us to facilitate.
- MultiDo and group service providers that support NTFSA's operations.
- Operators we engage to host, maintain or secure our systems, who are bound to protect your information.
- Regulators, courts or authorities where we are required to do so by law.
Where information is shared with a third party, that third party processes it under its own privacy terms and, where it advises on or provides a financial product, under its own regulatory licence.
6.Direct marketing
We will only send you direct marketing where the law allows or where you have agreed to receive it. Every marketing message includes a simple way to opt out, and you may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@ntfsa.co.za.
7.Security & retention
We take reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to limit access to those who need it.
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out above, or for as long as the law requires us to retain it, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified.
8.Cross-border transfers
Where any service provider stores or processes information outside South Africa, we take steps to ensure a comparable level of protection as required by POPIA.
9.Your rights
Subject to POPIA, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and request access to it.
- Request that we correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive or out of date.
- Object, on reasonable grounds, to the processing of your information.
- Withdraw consent you previously gave (this does not affect processing already carried out).
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer at info@ntfsa.co.za. Requests for access are handled in line with our PAIA Manual.
10.Cookies & this website
This website uses only the limited technical functionality needed to operate. Our contact page embeds an OpenStreetMap map, and our forms transmit the details you submit so we can respond. We do not use the site to build advertising profiles. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in your settings.
11.Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of children without the consent of a parent or guardian.
12.Complaints to the Information Regulator
If you believe we have not handled your personal information lawfully, you may complain to the Information Regulator:

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the revision date shown above.
